Fernwood

This past Sunday was my first time ever at our local, outdoor, batanical gardens (Fernwood)!! I went with my parents who by the way are photographers. They taught me how to finally use my Nikon D70. That's a professional camera for those of you that are not camera savvy. :) Please don't take offense to that because I've had this camera for almost a year & I didn't have a clue! They bought it for me for my birthday! What a gift!!! I was trembling, holding it in my hands when I unwrapped it.

Well, we started out in the early afternoon but the sun was high & bright!! They were talking me through some beginner advice which seemed like another language to me. I was almost impatiently ready to snap some pics but I waited it out. Patience is a big part of photography, especially depending on what your photographing. Ok, I'll quit typing & share some of my pics. I was quite impressed myself...of myself. :)

Ok, that's going to have to hold my viewers...I guess I experienced some technical difficulties when transferring these pics to my memory stick. Bummer!! To Be Continued...

As promised...here are the rest of the long-awaited pictures!! What can I say? I forgot them a couple few times! It's been a busy life lately.

This was at the beginning of our journey thru nature. These goldfish were ginormous!! It was a nice scene though.

Can you see him in the middle? I spotted him right away...just had to snap a shot of him sunnin' himself.

Pretty cool pic looking thru the gazebo.

I love flowers!! They almost look fake in this pic.

I want a cute little bridge like this in my backyard!! Oh, I don't have a backyard! :\

These are like one of my favorite flowers...well, at least my favorite smelling flower!! Lilacs.

I believe we decided this was an apple tree. Yep, those look like apple blossoms!

This was my fave pic of the day! I took so many pics of this tree/bush but this one was the best...I even got the 'ol house in the background.

These little guys are very interestingly wrapped up!

I love these Magnolia trees!!! I decided, when I first saw them about 4 years ago, to have them lining my driveway...maybe someday! For the last few years I have missed photographing these short-lived blossoms...this is all that was left when I finally got the opportunity.

This cute little guy (or girl) decided he/she wanted a picture taken...I think it fit perfectly in the pic! If you look close enough...it's staring right at the camera!

I had to snap the real photographer! That's my Mommie!!

My step-dad was teaching me how to blur water...

...and how to "freeze" it! I'm so excited, I know how to use my camera now!! :)

I thought this was pretty nifty...wouldn't you agree Melo? Easily amused I guess.

This one looked a little out of place...it was worth capturing!

Well, I hope you enjoyed going to Fernwood with me!! LOL Hee hee!! I know that was super-long but really, that wasn't even half the pics or objects captured that 3 hours we were there!

After all was seen & photographed I was thanking God for a week straight just for all those beautiful flowers & nature scenes we saw that day!! God is so good & it's so obvious how much He loves us when we take time to enjoy what He's created & given us.
